HOW TO BUILD A PERFECT WORK FROM HOME SPACE FOR YOURSELF

With the COVID-19 outbreak, we are all under lockdown. The virus has brought our lives to a stop, shutting all transport and forcing us to be home. But we all know the phrase ‘The show must go on’. It seems like most corporate organisations and IT companies have decided to make this saying their new work mantra. In these times of social distancing, most of us are working remotely from our homes.

With work from home becoming the new normal, Excel decided to come up with some interior decor tips on how to make your home look more work-friendly. Having the correct aesthetics is very important for a working environment. The ideal type of work from home space should be both cosy and efficient. It must have a bit of privacy, so you can do your work without any disturbances. But not everyone has the luxury of spacious homes.

Here is how you can set up a work space at your home with the bare minimum.

Designate a Specific Work Zone

It is easy to get distracted when working from home. There is family to talk to, the latest web series to watch, or just your snug bed pulling you towards it. This is why establishing a specific part of your home as the work area is very important. Make sure the family knows it and stays away from that corner during your work hours. To make this part of your home feel more like a professional work zone, you can use some wallpaper designs for walls that look more corporate. Maybe a dull grey colour or just plain stripes could do the trick. The idea is that the space should look less cosy and more formal. Wallpapers can also be used to demarcate the working zone from the rest of the house.

Work With What You Have

Fortunate are those people who have a study or spare room to convert into an office. But more often than not, we have to make do with what we have. It is best if you could find a desk or some sort of sitting space. You can even use the dining table if need be. If you have a rolling cart, use it to store your laptop, papers, and other work materials. When work hour starts, wheel it up to your dining table and you have a mobile office. At the end of the day, it can be rolled back into a corner out of the way.

Make it Cosy

Make it Cosy Working from home can sometimes be lonely. There are no colleagues to chitchat with, no coffee runs to the pantry. This is why your work from home space should be a corner you love. You can use digital wallpaper designs for walls to make the space look fun and lively. It is often said adding a touch of outdoors to your walls can make any dull corner come alive. With digital wallpapers, you can have beautiful natural scenery installed on your wall. Look at the beautiful colours and stunning life-like designs and your mood will instantly get better. Start work with a bright smile!

At the end of the day, working from home is all about maintaining a balance. The work space should be practical and efficient, but also cosy and welcoming at the same time. Excel’s wide range ofwallpaper collections offers up a great many choices to achieve this delicate balance. With the COVID-19 situation not getting any better, we should all be prepared for working from home for the foreseeable future now. Stay home, stay safe!
