Two of the biggest events of the global design industry – imm Cologne and MAISON&OBJET PARIS – have showcased a prelude to the upcoming interior trends of 2019. Held in the month of January in Cologne and Paris respectively, these design fairs are both showstoppers and trendsetters. The various furniture and furnishings collections showcased here to decide the rest of the year’s design trends.
When it comes to global color trends, the Pantone Color Institute plays a key role. The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is “Living Coral”. A blend of orange and pink, Coral refers to the pretty color of those beautiful coral reefs we have in our oceans. This color will be reflected in this year’s trends, making its way into our home interiors, furniture or furnishings.
2019 will see a shift from muted pastels to dark shades. The colors are not going to be bright, but more leaning towards the earthy and warm tones. Traditional colors mixed with a contemporary vibe is going to be the theme for this year’s interior trends.
